September is a busy month and there are three exhibitions opening this week.
1. The moment is here: “Bovey Lee: Undercurrents” at Nevada Museum of Art opens tomorrow and thru Jan 2. It is my first US museum solo exhibition. Why Nevada Museum? It is because NMA supports art exploring environmental concerns. If you love art and care about the environment, you must know about NMA. I am showing several larger, signature cut paper works, including “Atomic Jellyfish”, “Power Plant – The Butterfly Dream”, and “Tsunami–Oblivious.” At NMA, I will also be doing an artist talk and workshop in early November. If you are in or near Reno, please check it out!

2. The second exhibition also opens tomorrow is in Pittsburgh, PA. “Concept Art 40th Anniversary Curator Choice’s Show” features Pittsburgh artists and curators. Each curator and artist are given a 8×10 ft wall to exhibit. Janet McCall is the curator who invited me and she is currently the Executive Director of Society for Contemporary Craft where I was a board member few years ago. Janet selected several works including “What the Monarch Remembers II’, “Edge of Victory”, and “Flourish.” Thanks also to a collector couple who generously loans “Bubbles” for this exhibition.
